Do you
know a famous American who becomes a host of talk show?. She is Oprah Winfrey.
She was born on January 29, 1945 in Kasausko. She has a natural talent to perform on the scene and
she was very popular in her organization. She lived with her grandmother for
six years. Before she was six years, her mother got a job as a servant and she
took her back from her grandmother. Her life was still very poor so she had to
live in a small room with her mother and two her step brother and sister.
Everyday her mother left her children
early, then arrived in the evening so she did not have spare time to take care
for her family. At the age nine, she got sexual abuse by her cousin who kept
her and she was pregnant. Unfortunately, her baby died. From the age of
fourteen, she went to live with her father. She said that her father was
strict, but she was in the mood to be disobedient during teenage years. At the
age of seventeen, she got her first job as a newscaster in a local radio
stations and even she got scholarship. After that she was employed by the tv
stations as a journalist and newscaster. Her emotional style did not go down
well for a news programme so she was transfered to an ailing daytime chat programme
– the Oprah Winfrey show. And in 1986, she became a host of a talk show. Its
name is The Oprah Winfrey show. The Oprah Winfrey proved to be one of the most
successful and highly watched tv programmes of all time. It has broken many
social and cultural barriers such as gay and lesbian issues. Oprah has also
remained a powerful role model for a woman, and a black American woman in
particular. She is loved by her spectators because of her honesty and
personality.
